Leadership Team's Big Day Out
Exploring possibilities and deepening our knowledge and understanding of the local whenua.
Last Thursday we had the pleasure of accompanying two Dunedin water scientists, Marc Schallenberg and Andrew Innes, as well as fresh water scientist and local resident Maurice Rodway, on a trip around some key sites of our local area. Exploring places such as the stream in the scenic reserve, parts of the Ōreti River and the foreshore of Whalers Bay provided the opportunity to contrast the rich and complex ecosystems on our doorstep.
Part of our teacher professional learning this year is to shape learning programmes that will enable our students to think and work as scientists in these outdoor classrooms.
